Mentor Blogs
Because one of your projects this year is to build a website/blog, I’d like you to create a post devoted to three mentor blogs. A mentor is someone who helps those who are less knowledgeable or adept, so a “mentor” blog is a blog that helps you see all the potentials and affordances of blogging, in other words, a blog you can learn from. That’s not to say that I am asking you to find “how-to” guides on blogging. Boring. I’m asking you to find blogs that inspire and excite you with their visuals, content, and style. If you’re not already well entranced in the blogosphere, and you’re thinking, “I don’t know any blogs, so how am I going to find some?” try starting with Google. Search by interest or topic “vegetarian food blogs,” or academic interests “engineering blogs,” or start with “award-winning blogs.” Take your time and hopefully, you will stumble upon greatness.
